Baker, John

Born in Philadelphia. Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in 1837. Married to Anna Robeson Lee with nine children. Employed as a merchant.

Member of the American Philosophical Society. Active member of the Numismatic and Antiquarian Society of Philadelphia. He had an extensive library including books owned and signed by George Washington.

On February 3, 1881, he read a paper, “Old and New Style Fixed Date Calendars” for the Numismatic and Antiquarian Society of Philadelphia.

He died at Dublin, New Hampshire.
